Position: Museum Coordinator
Hours: 30-35 hours/week – Some weekend hours required
Rate: $8.00 - $10.00 DOE
Supervisor: Executive Director
Our goal at the Children's Museum of Bozeman is to contribute to the health
and well-being of the children in our community by providing safe, supportive,
fun, affordable, educational opportunities for whole families to enjoy. Unlike
other educational opportunities in the region, we are the only organization
dedicated exclusively to providing hands-on, sensory exhibits and programs
that foster imagination, curiosity and promote self-confidence.
The CMB Museum Coordinator manages our front desk. This position serves as
the “face” of the CMB. They must be friendly and enthusiastic when
greeting members and visitors. They are responsible for selling admission and
memberships, taking registrations for all programs, and answering the phone
and visitor questions. The Museum Coordinator also maintains the cleanliness
of the museum.
The Museum Coordinator plans weekly art projects, and assists with museum
programming. This includes helping with summer camp, spring break camp, PIR
days, after school programs, and running of special events.
Description of Duties:
Public Interface
Open and close the museum according to Operations Manual;
Greet visitors and answer questions;
Sell admissions, memberships, and merchandise;
Maintain program registrations, book birthday parties, and facility rentals;
Keep accurate attendance and sales records in our Database;
Answer main phone and refer questions to appropriate personnel;
Communicate special needs to Executive Director.
Exhibits
Keep Exhibit area clean, including putting away toys, doing daily cleaning/maintenance
as required;
Check/clean bathrooms throughout the day;
Responsible for daily museum maintenance and open/close records;
Report broken/unsafe exhibits to Executive Director.
Other Duties as Assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Energetic, enthusiastic and responsible;
Experience with kids and families!
High proficiency level on computers, including Word, Excel, and Data Base
Management;
Customer service preferred;
Comfortable working with diverse populations;
Good knowledge of Bozeman community;
Attention to detail;
Ability to do simple repairs and touch up painting;
First Aid Certification preferred, but not required.
