CMB’s Youth Intern Program

Every week, youth ages 11-18 meet at the Children’s Museum to work on a service-learning project. This year, they have chosen to take on the project of improving transportation in the Gallatin Valley. Their project is broken into three parts:

“How We Roll” Outdoor Exhibit
Interns will partner with Engineers Without Borders, a local landscape architect, and many other community partners to completely overhaul our playground. They will build an exhibit on transportation called “How We Roll” complete with a real, small plane to climb on and play in, as well as a car, a tractor, a boat, and a garden space.

“How We Roll” Research
The interns will interview the community to find out the biggest issues with transportation in the Gallatin Valley. They will present their findings to the Streamline organization, city council, and the community at large.

“How We Roll” Community Outreach
The interns will record PSAs, make videos, and figure out new ways to educate children and the community about their research findings, including green transportation options in the Gallatin Valley.

All teens are welcome to participate in our free Youth Intern Program. Attendance for every Saturday is not required, however, each Saturday is filled with fun, hard work, and lots of learning! Contact Emily at the Children’s Museum at 522-9087 for more details.
