Donate to a Mission Fund
With the recent launch of STEAMlab, our high-tech learning program, CMB has emerged as an educational leader in Bozeman. The Spark Fund supports programs and exhibits that develop vital 21st-century skills like coding, engineering and robotics. Did you know that most schoolchildren lose about two months of grade-level math and reading skills over the summer? Support the Acceleration Fund, and help us offer educational summer camps and after-school programs to hundreds of kids, all year long. We know that hands-on interactive exhibits are profoundly powerful learning tools. We’ve got several exciting exhibit acquisitions planned for 2017 – on topics like photonics, electricity and kinetics – and your gift to the Exploration Fund will make them possible! When you donate to the Access Fund, you help the museum welcome families in need through partnerships with service organizations like Thrive, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Youth Dynamics. So far this year: 1,900 low or no-cost admissions!
How do I make a gift? Why doesn’t CMB have all the income it needs from admission, membership and program fees? I can only make a small gift. Will that still help? I support CMB at auctions and special events. Why should I give to a Mission Fund too?
Our Mission Funds
CMB’s four Mission Funds each sustain a vital component of the museum’s educational strategy. Designate a Mission Fund when you donate, and your gift will support the area that interests you most!

In 2015, the income we earned from fees we charge our users covered about 35% of our annual operating costs, with grants, donations and fundraisers making up the rest. We’re committed to keeping our user fees low, so that our museum remains accessible to the entire community – and your support is vital to that effort.
Yes! In a lean organization like ours, small gifts can have significant impacts, and every gift moves us closer to our strategic goals. We encourage you to support CMB at a level that is comfortable for you and your family, and hope that you’ll make our museum one of your top philanthropic priorities.
The level of community participation in Annual Giving is of special interest to the grantmakers and foundations to which we apply for funding. In addition, your donation to a Mission Fund helps us plan for program expansions, exhibit investments and equipment purchases, and is 100% tax deductible.
